Meet Principal Antoine London

Dear Warriors,

Welcome to Henderson Middle School.  Whether you are an incoming 6th grader, an ambitious 7th grader, or an experienced 8th grade scholar, I would like to formally welcome you back home to Henderson Middle School.

I wanted to begin by saying how proud I am to have the opportunity to be your principal. I am looking forward to getting to know each of you as you make some of the biggest accomplishments of your life this school year. Middle School is a very special time in each student’s life, and we are blessed to have your family as part of our bigger Warrior Family to carry on the school Legacy.

Henderson Middle School is committed to improving the lives of our Warrior Families in the Northside of Richmond, Virginia through academic growth and excellence.

Our student motto here at Henderson is “Warriors Today, Leaders Tomorrow”. We expect the very best from our students, because we know that you will be the ones that are going to change the world. After a school year of virtual learning we are so excited to have our Warrior Student back on Campus.

Meet the 6th grade Assistant Principal Melinda Lawson

My name is Melinda Lawson and I am the sixth grade assistant principal at Henderson Middle School.  Welcome to the 2022-2023 academic school year! I am looking forward to working with my new team and our sixth graders as they embark on this  journey through middle school.

This year they're going to learn a lot about meeting new friends, having several classes, gaining independence while moving about our building, and even using lockers! This is all going to be an adventure to say the least.

I'm looking forward to working closely with our staff and parents this year but most importantly, our growing warriors! I am excited to be involved with all of the opportunities Henderson has to offer our students with the implementation of Project Based Learning and our STEM Academy.

I have a total of 27 years of experience in education with many more to go! My journey has taken me from an English teacher, literacy coach,  and now a new role as your assistant principal here at Henderson!

Welcome again to the 2022-2023 academic school year!
